Perfect Pairings

It can be hard to visualize how artwork will be styled and paired together at home. I know that, very often, I end up figuring it out through trial and error. Today, I’m taking some of the guesswork out of the equation by sharing a few of my favorite pairs of original abstract landscapes with botanical fine art prints!

In each pairing below, the colors balance harmoniously, and the detailed botanical prints create a lovely contrast against the smooth abstract landscapes.

“Sunflower Moon”

+

“Chamomile Blue”

“Morning Dew”

+

“Black-Eyed Susan”

“ Golden Hours”

+

“Vintage Rose”

“Kiss the Ground”

+

“Vintage Bouquet”

Now that you’ve picked the perfect combination, decide how to frame and style your artwork together!

When paintings and prints are the same (or similar) size, I recommend using different size frames to add variety.

Artwork on Fireplace Mantel

Shown here, the original painting is only 5x5 inches, but it has a much larger impact because of the large 20x20 frame with oversized mat. The botanical print (5x7) is in a smaller frame, with a standard size mat.

Style Art in Small Space Entryway

This “entryway” is actually just a small stretch of open wall in our kitchen near the front door. We made the most of the space by adding a higher quality shoe rack and styling the top shelf.

Both paintings are 5x7 so I used one frame with a standard size mat, and one with no mat. These fit perfectly in our small space and bring a peaceful feeling in place of our previously unorganized shoe pile. ;)
