How to Choose Artwork for Your Home
This year, I went through a huge transformation in decluttering and minimizing our home. Now that our space is peaceful and easy (well easiER, I do have three kids) to clean, I’m ready to add artwork! I’ve come up with a few tips to keep in mind when you’re choosing artwork so you can be confident in your choice.
Choose timeless over trendy
Timeless artwork will last through the years. You’re less likely to get sick of it when trends shift. Remember, timeless does not have to equal boring! It just means to think about the colors and vibes that you gravitate towards. Stay true to yourself and you can’t go wrong.
2. Be intentional
Take your time deciding on your purchase. Resist impulse buys. If you’re looking at original art, make use of the artist’s preview materials. If it’s not available, reach out and ask for previews! Artists will be happy to share detailed photos and answer your questions to ensure you’ll be happy with your purchase.
3. Choose high quality
Buy from an artist you trust! Look for descriptions like “archival quality”, which means that it will last hundreds of years. When paper and materials are archival quality, they will not fade over time. They’ll look as good as new for years to come. 2.
